THREE ROOM STUDIO SATURDAY CHALLENGE #16

Hola everyone! Today's Three Room Studio Challenge is: ANYTHING GOES.  For today's challenge, I was inspired by the Pure Leaf Mango Hibiscus tea bottle. I used the Mom's Hibiscus clear stamp set to create my card.

I cut Pitch black cardstock to 3 3/4" X 5 1/4" and adhered to an A2 Dove White top-folding card base.

Next I stamped Mom's Hibiscus three times and colored them with YR12, R14, R17 & R27 Copic Markers. Though this sweet stamp set has a coordinating die, I chose to fussy cut the hibiscus, thus enabling me to remove a few of the leaves. Also, my die-cutting skills leave much to be desired and I did not want to ruin my beautiful flowers!

Next, I adhered the hibiscus to the black panel, raising the center one with a foam square.

I stamped sentiments from Three Room Studio's Simple Sentiment set with white ink. To finish my card, I added yellow enamel dots.

I love how my card turned out! Do you use items as inspiration for cards or other projects? Let me know.

Thanks for taking a peek! Enjoy the rest of your day!

Holiday Spirits

Day 30
#thedailymarker30day

Wow! How time flies! It is the last day of the 14th Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin. And once again, it has been a great time. I enjoyed watching videos and looking at social media posts. I picked up a lot of tips and tricks from other color enthusiasts like myself. Coloring makes me happy.

For today's post, I created a bridge card using the Holiday Spirits Stamp Set by Avery Elle! I enjoy making these cards now as they lay flat and can go through the mail. On this card however, I used foam pop dots, which make it difficult for mailing. Therefore, I will need to place this in a bubble envelope and pay the additional postage. I do not not mind- this is going to a great friend!

This stamp set appeals to me as I love when my husband and friends make Egg Nog and Coquito for the holidays.  Coquito is a traditional Christmas drink which originated in Puerto Rico and means "Little Coconut" in Spanish. It is a coconut-based alcoholic beverage similar to eggnog.

I am soooooo looking forward to Coquito this Christmas! Not sure what he does, but my husband has added his on twist to his recipe and I now feel his version of Coquito is the best!

I purposely double stamped the sentiment Holiday Spirits a little bit off -as too much of my hubby's egg nog or Coquito can have that effect on you!

I just color plucked a few Copic Markers out of my case without any thought. The only thing I did know prior to coloring was that I wanted one bottle to remain clear.

Day 16
#thedailymarker30day

Made a quick notecard using images from two stamps sets. The umbrella is from a Washington State stamp set my crafty friend @sduffster (Shaila)sent me and the little girl is from Mama Elephant's In My Heart Set. I got the idea from Amber-lyriclover810 on YouTube. Amber has great ideas on how to use your paper stash! 🗺

My First Tunnel Card!

Day 15
#thedailymarker30day

I created my very first inside tunnel card! I watched Jennifer McQuires's YouTube video over and over and over and finally decided to go for it. As I mentioned in previous posts, during this challenge, I challenged myself to create more cards! I grabbed the Diamond Press Tropical Stamps and Dies Set I purchased and hoarded from HSN a few years ago and went to work!

I used Ink on 3 FadeOut Ink to stamp the palm trees as I did not want dark lines. I then used my copic markers to color them in. The sentiment is from *Pink and Main's Hello Die Set. Oval: Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Oval Dies.

Click >>Here<<< for Jennifer's tutorial. Give it a try. If you post your card anywhere, please tag me as I would love to see your work!

#thedailymarker30day

Created a bridge card with Gorjuss Girl-The Collector by @santorolondon. Followed Dawn's Stamping Thoughts Youtube tutorial and created my 1st one! It came together quickly once I got started. I love how it lays flat so it can be placed in an envelope. ✉️ Patterned Paper: Memorandum by @pinkpaislee Banner: Banner Day Die by @mftstamps Sentiment: Crafty Stamp Set by @pinkandmain.

#ssswchallenge

Today we honor all of our veterans! Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice!

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: Thinking of You.

I created a shaker card....something I rarely do. I am pushing myself to make cards and try new techniques that I usually shy away from.

Wish You Were Here...

Day 8
#thedailymarker30day

This challenge is about opening yourself up to try new techniques! Today, I attempted to color a light shooing down on a subject. As I said...attempted. I can see the various mistakes I made; the blending of the night sky, the light under the bench and the direction of the light ( the lam post is behind the image) However, practice makes perfect and I will take a try at this again at a later date. Though I was not totally happy with the turnout, I still created a card...something else I would do this challenge...create as many cards as possible.

You may recognize the sentiment from yesterday's post as My Favorite Things* Pure Innocence Wish You Were Here Clear Stamps Set. The image is from the same set. MFT Stamps does have a lamp post die...however I felt it felt it was too small for the image. I went to Cricut* Design Space and cut one out from the Heritage Cartridge.

Heart Tree

Day 5
#thedailymarker30day

Kathy of The Daily Marker suggests that we set aside 10-15 minutes day to color during the 30 Day Coloring Challenge that she hosts. Today, I colored for about 1 minute and took another 5 to create a quick card. It was all a happy accident. I did not set my plates up correctly in my Cricut* Cuttlebug for my initial pass of the My Favorite Things* Heart Tree die. Therefore all of the pieces did not cut out. At first, I was a bit frustrated . Then, not wanting to waste paper, I thought I could turn my mistake into a card. Ususally, when I set out to make a clean and simple card, my end result is messy and complicated! I love how this card turned out!

You're PAW-FECT!!!

Day 5
#thedailymarker30day

I received this sweet image at the Copic Boot Camp a few years ago. I am still working on coloring fur and know I need a lot more practice. But, that is what the challenge is all about. Taking time out of your day to color. Have you colored today???? Thanks for taking a peek!

Magical Unicorns & Gift Bags

 Day 4
#thedailymarker30day

I had soooooo much fun coloring this cute little Magical Unicorn by Pink and Main* for Day 4 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, hosted by Kathy of The Daily Marker. I stamped out the image using my MISTI  Stamping Tool by My Sweet Petunia* and Raven Detail Ink by Brutus Monroe. The set also comes with coordinating dies.  I used the Gift Bag Die Set...also by Pink and Main to create a gift bag. One gift bag turn into a few as I caught up on programs in my DVR. The bags are easy to create. Just double sided tape and a little folding!  I used pink cardstock and created a background using Ranger* Distress Oxide Ink and the Navigational Star 6X6 Stencil by Carta Bella. Take a peek at the other bags I created.......

On this bag I used pink cardstock, scrap paper and ribbon from my stash.
Flowers: Recollections Fabric Flowers.
Bling: Mon Ami Gabby

This bag was created with purple cardstock and yep...scrap paper and ribbon. The image and sentiment were freebies from Pink and Main* that I had in my stash. The sprinkles are Nuvo Crystal Glitter Drops*: Golden Sunset by Tonic Studios.

This bag is from the Tiffany's & Co. catalogue envelope.

This bag was also created with scrap paper. I used a Saucy 3x4 Journaling Card by Authentique and some sequins to adorn the front. I did have to cut off very little from the journaling card on all 4 sides
to get the fit I wanted.

This set is fun and the Gift Bag is simple to assemble. They are great as gift card or treat holders. Fill them with treats to hand out next Halloween. Use as party favors, teachers gifts, etc. If you use this set or Gift Bag Die...let me know I would love to see what you come up with.

#thedailymarker30day

I used my MISTI Stamping Tool by My Sweet Petunia* to stamp the images.

If you want to play along in the challenge, you can hop in at anytime. When posting on Instagram be sure to use #thedailymarker30day. If you do not have Instagram- you can post on the private FaceBook page here>> 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE. I hope you will play along!

Here is some additional information regarding the challenge that Kathy has posted on her blog previously that you may find helpful.

WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THE CHALLENGE?  To color something daily, even if it’s a few minutes, but certainly not required.  (I know that I am happier when I am coloring even if it’s for 10 minutes.)  It’s an ‘anything goes’ challenge; color whatever you feel inspired to do.  Any medium of your choice including “coloring” with ink or fiber for that matter.  Some days you will have more time than others but, it’s just about adding more time to color and carve out a little time for you (often I have colored one petal on a flower).
CAN ANYONE PARTICIPATE IN THE 30 DAY CHALLENGE?  YES please!  If you want to participate you can jump in at any time during the challenge.  Feel free to include your children and grandchildren.  If you miss a few days don’t feel like you have to catch up.  We all know life can get in the way.
HOW DO YOU SHARE WHAT YOU ARE COLORING?  On Day 1  I will have a place for you to share on my blog with a link up. Two more ways to share are FaceBook or Instagram (these are more interactive). When you use the hashtag #thedailymarker30day I can find what you are doing. Kids & young adults use #thedailymarker30daykids.
WHAT IS A GOODWILL AMBASSADOR?  Each challenge a group of people are chosen that were very active during during the previous challenge.  They will be helping me spread love on Instagram and Facebook.  The challenge is about coloring & it’s about community, spreading kindness & support for each other.

If you are playing along, please tag me so I may see your work!

DAY 1: CANDY CORN
#thedailymarker30day

I am super excited for the start of this 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE hosted by Kathy of The Daily Marker !! I will attempt to use stamps that I have purchased but are just sitting in my craft room. Through Kathy's challenges, I have met other awesome crafty people and have learned many. many techniques!

It is the day after Halloween and I thought it would be fun to color Lawn Fawn's How you Bean Candy Corn Add-On Stamp Set. to be honest, I don't like candy corn! There is something about the texture that does not appeal to me or my tastebuds!

After stamping the image with my MISTI Stamping Tool by My Sweet Petunia*, I colored it with Copic Markers: YR14, YR16 and Y11 and added orange and clear Wink of Stella. Using the Hearts A Flutter die from StampinUp in my Cricut* Cuttlebug and sentiments from the stamp set, I created a quick clean and simple card.

This card came to me quickly as I usually take awhile to create one. It was fun and I was able to open a stamp set I have been hoarding.

WHAT DO YOU HOARD IN YOUR CRAFT ROOM?

hoard-verb: to accumulate for preservation, future use, etc. in a hidden or carefully guarded place.

In my craft room I hoard paper, glitter, planner goodies, paper and more paper! I love to color images and can do so all day long! When I do place one of my colored images on card it is rare occasion. But once created, I have an issue with giving them a way. I feel as if I am giving a part of me away. And with that, would a recipient appreciate the work involved in creating a card. Would they know how I carefully selected color combos, the card design, the paper or the glue? Would they even care? So, back into the draw the card goes! Sad, but true. One day, I will be able to part with my hoard....but not today!

Are you a crafty hoarder? What do you hoard?

SPLAT COVER UP!

IMAGE: Have Hope by My Favorite Things

Good morning EVERYONE!!! So yesterday's SPLAT disaster worked itself out! I turned that pesky blob into a Mickey Mouse ballon. I like how the little girl is peeking from behind the balloon. Next month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and hopefully I will be able create a card with this image! Thanks for taking a peek!

Coffee and Copics

Happy Tuesday EVERYONE! Ready with my coffee....I decided to prep early for the upcoming 30 DAY Coloring Challenge hosted by the amazing and talented Kathy Raccosin of The Daily Marker. The next challenge begins on November 1st! I am cleaning and refilling my Copic Markers so that I am ready to sit and color to my heart's content.

I currently house my markers in a blue Copic Aluminum Case. I purchased mine -for a really great price-a few years ago from my crafty friend and entrepreneur Lameka of Capitol Chic Designs. If you search online you can find one ranging from $80-$400.

Keep in mind the case does not include the insert. I purchased my insert from Our Gray Barn on Etsy. They even create an insert for your Copic Sketch Markers to easily fit inside the IKEA Raskog cart!

Hope you can play along during the challenge. No pressure. 10-15 minutes a day and you do not have to play along every day- life gets in the way! Enjoy your day! Thanks for taking a peek!
