UNITED AS ONE YOU ARE LOVED

Hola Everyone!

Today I am sharing a card inspired by Heidi Swapp!

In Heidi's IG post on July 10th she wrote:

" I knew that I wanted to shout this message: YOU BELONG HERE! You ARE loved! Whatever might be telling you that you aren’t good enough, or you aren’t worthy or that people would be better off without you: those are LIES. This world NEEDS your gifts, your smile, your love."

In this post, Heidi honored her son Cory, who passed 5 years ago. Having lost a family member myself, I know the importance of suicide awareness. Feeling sad or anxious is not a sign of weakness and does not discriminate. Conversations about mental illness and the resources available are needed as it can lead to mental wellness: mind, body and soul.

I created this 4X4 card using the United As One Stamp set. After stamping YOU ARE LOVED on a heart die-cut, I placed it on stack of hearts. Added it to a stenciled background, with a few embellishments.  This is a simple card that can be given to anyone.

If you or someone you know needs emotional support, click HERE for The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Their number is: 800.273.8255

My First Tunnel Card!

Day 15
#thedailymarker30day

I created my very first inside tunnel card! I watched Jennifer McQuires's YouTube video over and over and over and finally decided to go for it. As I mentioned in previous posts, during this challenge, I challenged myself to create more cards! I grabbed the Diamond Press Tropical Stamps and Dies Set I purchased and hoarded from HSN a few years ago and went to work!

I used Ink on 3 FadeOut Ink to stamp the palm trees as I did not want dark lines. I then used my copic markers to color them in. The sentiment is from *Pink and Main's Hello Die Set. Oval: Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Oval Dies.

Click >>Here<<< for Jennifer's tutorial. Give it a try. If you post your card anywhere, please tag me as I would love to see your work!

Thanks for taking a peek!!!

Wish You Were Here...

Day 8
#thedailymarker30day

This challenge is about opening yourself up to try new techniques! Today, I attempted to color a light shooing down on a subject. As I said...attempted. I can see the various mistakes I made; the blending of the night sky, the light under the bench and the direction of the light ( the lam post is behind the image) However, practice makes perfect and I will take a try at this again at a later date. Though I was not totally happy with the turnout, I still created a card...something else I would do this challenge...create as many cards as possible.

You may recognize the sentiment from yesterday's post as My Favorite Things* Pure Innocence Wish You Were Here Clear Stamps Set. The image is from the same set. MFT Stamps does have a lamp post die...however I felt it felt it was too small for the image. I went to Cricut* Design Space and cut one out from the Heritage Cartridge.

Heart Tree

Day 5
#thedailymarker30day

Kathy of The Daily Marker suggests that we set aside 10-15 minutes day to color during the 30 Day Coloring Challenge that she hosts. Today, I colored for about 1 minute and took another 5 to create a quick card. It was all a happy accident. I did not set my plates up correctly in my Cricut* Cuttlebug for my initial pass of the My Favorite Things* Heart Tree die. Therefore all of the pieces did not cut out. At first, I was a bit frustrated . Then, not wanting to waste paper, I thought I could turn my mistake into a card. Ususally, when I set out to make a clean and simple card, my end result is messy and complicated! I love how this card turned out!

YOU MEAN THE WORLD TO ME

DAY 3: YOU MEAN THE WORLD TO ME
#thedailymarker30day

Last month I hopped along in Ardyth's 3K YouTube Subscribers Video Hop and was inspired by everyone that participated. One of Ardyth's friends, Carly, showed 3 Cards with 1 Stamp and I knew theGina K Designs* Rose Bouquet would be perfect for the techniques she shared. Like Carly, I used my MISTI* stamping tool to stamp the bouquet image. I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks by Ranger* for the watercolor technique Carly showed in her video.  Once all roses were colored in and dry, I used Brutus Monroe Raven Detail Ink to re-stamp the image. Using the MISTI makes that easy!  A few splatters of ink, the sentiment and done!  Thanks for taking a peek!

WHAT DO YOU HOARD IN YOUR CRAFT ROOM?

hoard-verb: to accumulate for preservation, future use, etc. in a hidden or carefully guarded place.

In my craft room I hoard paper, glitter, planner goodies, paper and more paper! I love to color images and can do so all day long! When I do place one of my colored images on card it is rare occasion. But once created, I have an issue with giving them a way. I feel as if I am giving a part of me away. And with that, would a recipient appreciate the work involved in creating a card. Would they know how I carefully selected color combos, the card design, the paper or the glue? Would they even care? So, back into the draw the card goes! Sad, but true. One day, I will be able to part with my hoard....but not today!

Are you a crafty hoarder? What do you hoard?

2018 Stamping for Awareness Blog Hop

"Autism is not a disability, it is a different ability."
                                                                    -Stuart Duncan

Hola crafty friends!!! Thanks for stopping by! I personally know AWESOME children and adults with Autism.
That is why I am super excited and honored to be a part of the
2018 Stamping forAutism Awareness Blog Hop
I created this card with the Pink and Main Somebunny Stamp Set & Coordinating Die along with the
Pink and Main Heart Puzzle Die ❤️
Using colors most commonly found on Autism Awareness ribbons and puzzle pieces, I colored the image with Copic Markers. Placing a piece of sticker paper on red cardstock prior to running the heart puzzle die, ensured the puzzle pieces would stay together. The sentiment is included in the Somebunny Stamp set.
The card came together pretty easy:kraft and black cardstock, score-tape, sequins and a bit of glue.

Happy New Year!!!

Hola Everyone! I hope you all had a safe and wonderful holiday! I am looking forward to this year as it will be filled with lots of happy events; both crafty and personal. One event will be my oldest daughter's wedding in June. I will be posting the crafty side of planning her nuptials. But for now, I want to share a card I made for my future son-in-law's Big 30. His birthday is January 1st!!! Ahhhhh...I know what it is to have a holiday birthday as mine is Christmas Eve.

For this card I used the brand new MISTI that my daughter gave me for my birthday. I am sooooooo in love with it!!! What a difference it makes when making an image pop! I am glad that it is part of my stamping arsenal. The stamp set is from the AWESOME Vanessa of V's Sweet Ideas

My future son-in-law is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan (we still love him anyway...lol) and I wanted to create a card using the Steelers colors: black and yellow. I started the design with one suit surrounded by yellow suits. Initially, I was going to color the suit in the middle, but changed my mind once I saw the yellow suits around it.  I knew the suit needed a "pop" so I chose to color in the tie only with gold Wink of Stella. I cut the the sentiment separating the "Suit Up" from "It's Your Birthday" and stamped them on the card.

For the inside of the card, I used black and yellow in addition to the number 30! I will write a note before I send it off!

Thanks for taking a peek! Have an AWESOME rest of your day!

TRIPLE EASEL

Hello everyone! Hope you are enjoying your day so far!  Recently, I posted a peek of a TRIPLE EASEL CARD that I created on Facebook & Instagram. Thank you all for your sweet comments! A few of you asked if I would create a tutorial. Though I enjoy making vids, a tutorial on this particular TRIPLE EASEL CARD would only be exactly what the AWESOME Arlene-MyButterFlyKisses12 did when she made hers. There are other tutorials on YouTube on how to make the TRIPLE EASEL CARD, however; I followed Arlene’s.  Take a peek at her tutorial by clicking HERE and give it a try!

I colored  a beautiful digital stamp from the Saturated Canary 40s and 50s Fashion Decades selection.  Click >>>HERE<<< to check out the Saturated Canary Shop! Nope....I did not color her legs or shoes because they were not included on the card.
COPIC COLORS USED....
Hair: C2, C6, C7, C10
Skin: BV00, E21
Lips: E04
Eyes: E23
Dress: E07, E09, E19

I used the left-over pieces the from the Tim Holtz Alterations Film Strip Die to create the small banners on the 1st panel. I added clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Marker and Gold Chalk Marker to make them sparkle and shine!

As you can see in the background...the cards can lay flat. This will allow them to fit into an envelope.

Thanks for taking a peek!

CLAUDINE HELLMUTH MILK TRUCK

HAPPY FAT TUESDAY EVERYONE! I took the day off for a much needed mental break. Boy was I happy I did when I received a text from HSN that there would be scrappy items on today. I was even more excited when I realized that my favorite retro-style artist Claudine Hellmuth was going to be presenting her MILK TRUCK CHIPBOARD KIT.  I personally feel that Claudine does not get enough airtime to show off her AWESOME work. I have purchased her kits in the past and had to add this to my collection. I make cards and add other scrappy projects. While looking at the chipboard pieces it hit me......I can totally use them on my PROJECT LIFE PAGES!!!! Take a peek at the MILK TRUCK....
