Hero Arts|Happy Birthday

Hola everyone! Popping in to share a birthday card I created for my crafty friend and fellow card maker Karen of Cards Stamps and Ink. She turns 50 today and a few of her friends wanted to flood her timeline with birthday cards to surprise her!

I created a card using the new Happy Thanks Stamp and Cut XL set introduced in the Hero Arts Spring 2021 Catalog. It was fun to create and I hope you give it a try!

Karen's favorite color is purple so I chose that as my card base.

To begin, I die-cut "happy" in Pitch Black cardstock and set aside. Next, I glued 3.5" strips of scrap cardstock in Peony, Amethyst, Lavender and Azelea onto a piece of printer paper and let dry. I then die-cut "happy"into the strips and glued it slightly offset to the black die-cut "happy" creating a shadow.

Next, using Dove White cardstock, I die cut the Party Confetti Fancy Die. I then die-cut "happy" into the center of the confetti panel and cut it down slightly on all four sides. Next, I carefully adhered the panel to an A2 top-folding Amethyst card base.

I adhered the shadowed striped "happy" on the die-cut space in the confetti panel. I then stamped then sentiments onto Dove White cardstock, cut them down and matted them with Azelea cardstock. I adhered them to card and completed it with a few Purple Hero Hues Enamel Dots.

I hope Karen enjoys my card. You can take a peek at the others cards made for Karen by searching #itskarens50thbirthday on Instagram.

Thanks for taking a peek! Enjoy the remainder of your weekend!

Hero Arts|Thank You So Much

Hola everyone! Hope you are having a great day. Popping in to share a card I created with the Hero Arts Thank You Message Cover Plate. This awesome die was introduced in the Hero Arts Spring 2021 catalog.

I love the versatility of the Hero Arts Thank You Message Cover Plate and wanted share how I used it to create my card today.

It came together quickly and I hope you will give it a try.

To begin, I die-cut the cover plate using 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" Pitch Black cardstock. Be sure to save all of your pieces as they can be used for future cards and projects. I then adhered it to a top-folding Cherry cardstock card base of the same measurement- also known as an A2 card size.

Next, I die-cut five hearts of the same size, in cherry, from the Nesting Infinity Hearts Die Set and gave them all light coat of crystal clear lacquer

Once dried, I adhered them to a 1" X 3 3/4" Dove White cardstock strip. I popped the strip onto the card with foam dots, covering the first "so so".

Hero Arts|City HeroScape

Hola Everyone! Today I am sharing a card I created using the new Hero Arts City HeroScape clear stamp set. The Hero Arts Color Layering technique allows you to add layer upon layer of color, thus adding depth and interest to your cards and projects.

City HeroScape reminds me of the many, many occasions I admired the New York City skyline during different times of the day and night.

To create my card, I first stamped and layered the skyline in Fog, Wet Cement and Intense Black Inks onto a 4" X 5 1/4" watercolor paper panel.

I swiped Thistle Reactive Ink onto an acrylic block, spritzed the ink with a water mist bottle and used a water flow brush, to "watercolor" the sky. Once dry, I stamped the helicopter from the set.

I cleaned the acrylic block, swiped it with Wet Cement, Soft Granite and Grape Slush and spritzed the inks with a water mist bottle. I used mini watercolor brushes to watercolor and create the New York Harbor.

I used a mini watercolor brush spritzed White Shimmer Mist to add a little glisten to the harbor water.

After the panel was dry, I cut it down to 3 3/4" X 5" and matted it with Pitch Black cardstock cut to  4" X 5 1/4". I adhered the panel to an A2 top folding Antique Ivory card base.

Hope you enjoyed my card today. Thanks for taking a peek. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Hero Arts Spring 2021 Catalog Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hola everyone! Hope you are having a great day!

Thanks for joining Hero Arts in celebrating the 2021 Spring Catalog with a blog hop and giveaway. If you hopped over from the awesome Mindy you are in the right place. To start the hop from the beginning, visit the Hero Arts blog. The entire blog list can be found at the bottom of this post, along with the giveaway information.

I am honored and excited the 2021 Spring Catalog includes new products from the Unity Collection: a partnership collaboration with Hero Arts, Dana Joy and myself. This collection "recognizes the beauty of people standing and working together to achieve a better future for everyone."

My first card was created using the Unity Collection Color Layering Flower Power and coordinating Frame Cut Sets.

I started by die-cutting two circles using the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies in Pitch Black and Dove White and adhered them to a top folding card base

I then stamped the sentiments onto the card base. Next, I stamped, layered, colored and die-cut the Flower Power image. I used Cup O' Joe, Soft Brown, Lemon Drop and Soft Apricot inks to layer the flowers.

I die-cut an additional Flower Power frame cut in Pitch Black and used it as a shadow.  I adhered the image onto the panel and completed the card with Aquas Hero Hues Enamel Dots

For my second card, I used the Thank You Message Cover Plate. I started by stamping the newly released Script Bold Prints background stamp with Splash Reactive Ink onto Paradise cardstock.

Next, I arranged the Paradise cardstock, embossing mat and die-cutting plates onto my die-cutting machine to dry emboss the Thank You Cover Plate

Once done, I spritzed the panel with White Iridescent Shimmer Mist and adhered it to an A2 Dove White top folding card base

Thanks so much for taking a peek! You next stop on the hop is the amazing Seeka!

Bear Card For Kari's Dad

 Hola everyone!

My friend and fellow carmaker Kari lost her father the day after Christmas. Her dad love bears and Kari asked her instagram friends for cards with bears to honor her him.

I created a card using the Hero Arts From the Vault Cute Animals clear stamp set. To begin, I stamped and colored the cute bear with Copic Markers.

I then stamped the Abstract Linocut Bold Print background with Cup O' Joe Ink onto Dove White cardstock.

Next, using the Nesting Hearts Infinity Die Set, I die-cut the Linocut background and bear image and in different sizes and adhered them to a top folding A2 card.

I placed the card in a Misti Stamping Tool and covered the image with scrap paper and stamped a sentiment from the set.

If you post on Instagram and would like to create a bear card for Kari-you can find here HERE. Be sure to use #bearcardsfordad so Kari can see your card.

Hola everyone! Today's Three Room Studio Challenge is: BIRTHDAY. For today's challenge I created a 4" X 4" note card. It came together quickly and I hope you will give it a try.

I stamped the hibiscus three times from Mom's Hibiscus clear stamp set onto the edge of a 3 1/4" die-cut circle.  I stamped a sentiment from the set and adhered the circle onto the notecard card base.

Next I stamped, colored and die-cut an additional hibiscus. The coordinating die leaves a nice border around the image.

I popped the hibiscus onto the card with a few foam squares and added enamel dots to complete the card.
