Hero Arts July 2022 My Monthly Hero Release Blog Hop & Giveaway

Hola everyone. Thanks for joining Hero Arts in celebrating the July 2022 My Monthly Hero Kit release. If you hopped over from the awesome Mindy Eggen, you are in the right place. To start the hop from the beginning, visit the Hero Arts Blog. The entire hop list can be found at the bottom of this post, along with the giveaway information.

The tropical July kit features a fun flamboyance of HeroScape flamingos! Say that 5 times fast! I moved to Florida a few years ago and have become quite familiar with these elegant birds! You can find them printed on just about anything-plates, bags, flip-flops, t-shirts, curtains and toilet seat covers to name a few. I am amazed by our fine feathery friends and excited they are part of the July 2022 MMH Kit

I created my card following the "Off the Edge Die Cut" tutorial by a talented friend of Hero Arts: Jennifer McGuire. CLICK HERE to see the video.

If you are inspired to re-create my card based on Jennifer’s tutorial- here are are the details....

1. Cut white cardstock to 4.25"X11"
2. Draw a line (lightly in pencil) at 5.5"
3. Lay cardstock flat; place flamingo frame cut along the pencil
     line-legs below the line
4. Adhere flamingo frame cut in place with low tack tape; place
cutting plate slightly above the pencil line; die-cut
5. Trim excess cardstock; place in MISTI
6. Erase pencil line. (I kept it here so you may see it in the
     photos)
7. Stamp layered flamingos using Pitch Black, Azalea and Cotton
     Candy Core Inks.
8. Add "water" with coloring medium of choice-I used Copic
      Markers
9. Stamp sentiment; add enamel dots
10. Adhere the panel onto an 4.25" X 3.75" card base.
(Cut cardstock to 4.25"X 7.50" score at 3.75" and fold)

This tropical kit is perfect for creating cards for "bird" days, encouragement, friendship, and much more.

For my second card I used the Cockatoo clear stamp set and coordinating frame cuts. They are beautiful add-ons to the July MMH Kit.

Card Instructions
1. Cut Peony cardstock to a 4" X 5.25" panel.
2. Blend Azalea, Ultra Pink and Cotton Candy onto the panel.
3. Die-cut Party Confetti Fancy Die onto panel
4. Adhere confetti panel to a 4" X 5.25" Peony panel
5. Adhere confetti panel to an A2 cardbase.
6. Stamp, color and die-cut cockatoo and branch; adhere to panel. I
popped cockatoo with foam dots for dimension.
7. Stamp sentiment onto Peony cardstock; trim; adhere to panel.
7. Add sequins to complete.

I hope the July 2022 Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit inspires you to create fun tropical cards.

  10. Dear Pam - This is such a fantastic idea! I love it. Thanks for the pix to remind me how to do it. I have seen that video from Jennifer M but the visual was a helpful reminder. Your cockatoo card is also brilliant - so pretty! TFS from one Pocono person to another, although I moved from there many years ago, I still love the area -
