You Make A Difference!

Hola everyone! I am sharing a card I created using the beautiful image "Shine" by Tracy Easson. She is part of the Angels of Love and Light Collection. This stamp set along with Ms. Easson's other amazing illustrations can be found at The Craft Store.

If you follow me, you know that I love to take creative license to alter images by changing hairstyles on images. I usually add an afro or afro puffs. Doing this gives the image a new look! It is like getting 2 stamps in one. In addition, at times I need to add curly hair and/or a darker skin tone to reflect the recipient of my handmade card.

To create my card, I first stamped "Shine" with black ink onto white cardstock. Though afros are not a perfect circle, it is the look I wanted for the design of my card. I used a small circle nesting die to note the shape of her afro with a pencil.

I colored the image in with Copic Markers and fussy cut it out. (Cut out by hand with scissors

Placing a Sun Background stencil onto a 3 3/4" X 5" white panel, I blended Pale Tomato, Fresh Peach and Taffy inks. I adhered Faith onto the panel, positioning her afro in the center of the sun ray!

Next, I stamped, colored and fussy cut a flower from the Hero Arts Beautiful World clear stamp set and popped it on the afro with a foam square.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink onto white cardstocktrimmed and matted it with Paradise cardstock.

If you have not already done so, try to alter an image by changing the hair or clothes. It is fun to see how many combinations you can create.

Thanks for taking a peek at my card! Wishing you a fantastic rest of your day!
